AI is changing the way we work—but technology alone does not bring about digital transformation

On the third day of the “Digitalization with AI” course, which took place as part of the CAS “Nuclear Energy Work Environment,” we spoke with Dr. Andreas Liedtke about RAG systems, AI agents, and digital transformation.

The technological possibilities are impressive: information is available even faster, processes are becoming even more efficient, and decision-making is supported even better.

Digital transformation is never just a matter of technology. It is always a leadership and cultural challenge.

New technologies can only realize their full potential when people understand them, accept them, and can actively help shape them. This requires guidance, dialogue, participation, and a willingness to learn together. 🌱

This is especially true in “High Reliability Organizations” such as nuclear power plants. Safety there is not achieved solely through technology, but through the people who work with it. Trust, transparency, and continuous improvement are key success factors in this regard.

💡 Technology can support culture, but it can never replace it.

Whenever a new technology is introduced, we should therefore ask ourselves how we can create the conditions that allow the people working with this technology to realize its potential even more effectively.

How are you experiencing the introduction of AI in your organizations? What do you think are the key success factors in digital transformation?
