Swissnuclear has submitted its 2026 cost study to the Administrative Commission of the Decommissioning and Disposal Fund (STENFO). The study projects total decommissioning and disposal costs of CHF 23.6 billion. A significant portion of this amount has already been paid or is available in the fund.

In 2026, 28 students enrolled in the Master's program "Nuclear Engineering". At the same time, the CAS "Working Environment Nuclear Energy" recorded increasing enrollment numbers in its second iteration.
What makes for good project management? The CAS program “Nuclear Energy Work Environment” concluded with a focus on correctly assessing complex situations, the use of AI in day-to-day project work—and the factor that remains crucial despite all the new technologies: people.
The Decommissioning and Waste Disposal Funds once again posted positive results in 2025.
Both funds are significantly above their target levels, confirming the responsible
financing strategy designed to ensure long-term coverage of decommissioning and
waste disposal costs.
