Young talent for nuclear energy: Interest remains high

Swissnuclear has submitted its 2026 cost study to the Administrative Commission of the Decommissioning and Disposal Fund (STENFO). The study projects total decommissioning and disposal costs of CHF 23.6 billion. A significant portion of this amount has already been paid or is available in the fund.

The Decommissioning and Waste Disposal Funds once again posted positive results in 2025.
Both funds are significantly above their target levels, confirming the responsible
financing strategy designed to ensure long-term coverage of decommissioning and
waste disposal costs.
