Decommissioning and Waste Disposal Fund Posts Positive Results Once Again

Last week, swissnuclear was represented at two universities: at the EPFL 2026 Forum in Lausanne and at the VMP Industry Talk at ETH Zurich. The focus was on the diverse career opportunities in the Swiss nuclear energy industry, as well as its history and future.

Swissnuclear has submitted its 2026 cost study to the Administrative Commission of the Decommissioning and Disposal Fund (STENFO). The study projects total decommissioning and disposal costs of CHF 23.6 billion. A significant portion of this amount has already been paid or is available in the fund.

In 2026, 28 students enrolled in the Master's program "Nuclear Engineering". At the same time, the CAS "Working Environment Nuclear Energy" recorded increasing enrollment numbers in its second iteration.
