Research meets practice. Industry meets the next generation. Ideas meet the future.

🔬Research meets practice. Industry meets the next generation. Ideas meet the future.

Last week, around 80 participants from universities, research institutions, and industry gathered at the Leibstadt Nuclear Power Plant’s information center for the Research & Industry Forum. The biennial event, organized by swissnuclear, was opened by Power Plant Manager Diana Naidoo and sn Board Member Alexander Puhrer, with Fabienne Chawla serving as the event’s host.

💡The focus was on current research projects and industrial applications—ranging from thermohydraulic experiments to AI-supported analyses and innovative simulation methods.

🌱The message of the day was clear: The Swiss nuclear energy industry offers young professionals long-term prospects and diverse development opportunities—particularly in the areas of long-term operation, decommissioning, and waste disposal.

🤝Another topic was retaining young talent over the long term. Networking and attractive career development opportunities within the industry play a central role in this regard.

The intensive exchange once again demonstrated how important collaboration between research and industry is for the future of the Swiss nuclear energy sector.

🙏Many thanks to all presenters and participants for this inspiring event!
